We use a wide variety of equipment, at DSPI, during investigations. We are still adding to the list, check back often to see the new items we are using.

Sony Digital8 Handycam with nightvision- We have two of these great units.
We use Accousctica software to clean up our EVP's It works very good and you can get a 30 day free trial run of the software at: http://www.aconas.com/
Thermometers:
Infrared scanners- We have two of these.
Electromagnetic Detectors:
ELFZone EMF Detectors- We have three of these units.
K-2 EMF detector
Cell Sensor EMF Detector -2 of these
Flashlights:
Hand Held "C" cell lights- Each member carries one and backup.
Snake Light- I personally like this light, you can position it anywhere in any direction...You can also wrap it around your neck for hands off use.
Hand Held Ambient Fluroescent- Emits great light with little power usage.
L.E.D. Flashlights- Use very little power and emit great light.
Communication:
Cellular- NOT turned on during investigations.
Two Way Radios- Used during investigations when large areas are being covered.
VHF Motorola Two Way- We have two of these. They are programmed with all public safety agency frequencies in our area. They are great to have because we can call for direct help to Police, Fire or EMS if the need arises. Scott, an investigator is a Paramedic and Mitch, another investigator is a Police Officer locally.**IT IS NOT GOOD PRACTICE TO USE PUBLIC SAFETY FREQENCIES UNLESS YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO DO SO**
First Aid:
We have a comlete EMS jump bag with us, on site, at all times.
Backup Batteries/Chargers:
"C" cell- 12 extra at all times
"AA" cell- 12 extra at all times
"AA" rechargable- 8 extra at all times
12 volt adapter/recharging station- Will charge all camcorder and camera batteries in 1 to 2 hrs.
